![]() I arrived at 9 AM but the doors did not open until 9:20, surprising but maybe another door opened earlier. I have lived in Japan and am pretty familiar, but this place does have some quirks. I was looking for a good 50M pool for a workout in Tokyo. I guess the ladies go there to yak away and the males go there for a snooze ) There were a couple of guys snoring away uninhibitedly at the lounge areas no such occurrences at the female lounge! In the onsen though, there were many ladies who could not stop talking to each other. There are ladies-only lounges although we could not use those as we were there as a family. We also paid to use the hot stone baths (baden) as well and had to wait for the allocated timing before we could get our baden wear and enter the 7-9 floor. I read there is a Kyoto-themed restaurant inside which has a Michelin star sister restaurant. ![]() We wanted to stay for dinner (not for the baths) but were told it was not permitted. If you have younger kids (eg btw 5-17), you are not allowed to leave them unchaperoned. The token can be used to purchase items eg food/drinks/merchandize and the bills can all be paid at checkout.ĭo note there is an entry surcharge for weekends and public holidays. Do not lose it as there will be a charge for losing it. You will be given a token bracelet which you can wear into the baths. From there, head to the reception on the 6th floor, remove your shoes, keep them in a locker and queue to buy entrance tickets. There is a special lift on the second floor to Spa Laqua, which is located at the Tokyo Dome. I guess it was popular with friends who wanted to hang out and talk to each other on a Saturday. The spa was a lot noisier than the one I went in Nagoya. There were TV or ipad at almost each lounge chair or you could use your own device too. Tokyo hotels generally allow only late check out till around 3-4pm max (with an hourly based charge), and hence, we were “homeless” or “roomless” from as early as 11am!īetween the option of hanging out at cafes and hanging out at the onsen, we chose the latter and it proved to be a wonderful choice! All we had to do was leave the bags at the hotel and pick up afterwards.īaths and lounge aside, there were massages, face and hair salon treatments and plenty of food and drink options. We were taking the red eye out of Japan and I made the mistake of not booking one extra night of hotel.
